HELLRAISER: DEADER – WINTER’S LAMENT (2009) is a fan film prequel to the seventh studio Hellraiser film, HELLRAISER: DEADER (2005). It is a character study with horror elements, which explores the backstory of Winter, the mysterious antagonist of HELLRAISER: DEADER. The film is nonlinear, with the story intersecting several characters and events from THE PROPHECY (1995), HELLRAISER: BLOODLINE (1996), HELLRAISER: DEADER and the filmmaker’s previous crossover fan film, HELLRAISER: PROPHECY (2006).
About the Filmmaker:
Jonathan S. Kui is a forensic biologist, who discovered filmmaking as a hobby in 2005. His major influences include directors Clive Barker and Rod Lurie. One of his goals is to someday write, produce and direct a feature-length fan film that would serve as a final chapter for his Hellraiser fan film story arc. He lives in New York with his patient and understanding wife and, unsurprisingly, a small, hungry, collection of carnivorous plants.

Andres became interested in art at a young age. He was also interested in theater early on. The stories that he read during his studies of Latin American Literature greatly influenced the type of stories that he tells through animation. About the Filmmaker:
Started on pen & paper, moved on to DeluxePaint on the Amiga 500 and later Imagine & ImageFX on the A1200. Became active in the scene at The Party in 1995. Was part of groups; Puld, Ostebulen, Dream Factory and finally joined JUNK in the late 90’s. Around the same time I switched to a PC based platform and started using 3dsmax. My primary focus was on visually pleasing effects (particles, volumetrics, dynamic simulations) right up until the point where the technical aspects seemed less interesting than why they were there.
I developed an interest in storytelling and directing and has since shifted my attention towards these goals. I am currently involved in the development of various animated and live action projects.

About the Filmmaker:
Lucas is a freelance animator and VFX artist. After graduating from Millikin University with a bachelor’s degree in Commercial Music, he moved to Austin, Texas and began production on “Pigeon: Impossible” in the summer of 2004. The film is his first animation, and took nearly 5 years to complete. A severe snowstorm cuts the cable to Matt’s TV, leaving him with channel after channel of static until he happens upon a station with the mirror image of his apartment on it. Except it’s his apartment 30 years prior, and a young woman lives there instead.
About the Filmmaker:
Marc caught the film bug while sitting in a friend’s dark living room watching “John Carpenter’s The Thing”. By the time the lights came back on he knew what he wanted to be when he grew up - a filmmaker. Not long after, Marc talked his dad into buying a Super 8 camera, projector and splicer, and started making films with his friends.
He went on to study film at Humber College in Toronto, and then attended The New York Film Academy’s inaugural first year, where he was the only Canadian amongst an international student body.
Marc has spent the last 12 years working in post production on various TV series’, TV movies and feature films such as “The Skulls 2 and 3”, “Breakfast with Scot” and Atom Egoyan’s “Where the Truth Lies”, “Adoration”, “Chloe” and is currently working on “Barney’s Version” for Robert Lantos.
He co-wrote, produced and edited the short film “The Hardest Job” and edited the multi-award winning “Boyfriend Latte”. Marc has also directed, written and edited the short films “Dear Barry”, “Dead Clown”, “Sweet Tooth” (which won 3rd Prize at the 24hr Toronto Film Challenge in 2006). In 2007 Marc tried his hand at ‘Shot on Mobile’ filmmaking with his first attempt being “Alchemy”, a 1 minute film about two cell phones that fall in love, that went on to win awards at Mobifest, Wildsound Feedback Film Festival and Renderyard 1-Minute Film Festival. His second Mobile film,“Rewind My Love” , was commissioned by Mobifest for their 24-hour Mobile Challenge. The film was shot using a Nokia N86 mobile phone.

About the Filmmaker:
Born in Edmonton and raised in Vancouver, A.J. began his film career as a child actor appearing in numerous Canadian films such as Gary Burns’ Kitchen Party, and Anne Wheeler’s Better Than Chocolate. In 2003, A.J. graduated from the University of British Columbia Film Programme where he produced and edited the award-winning short, Why the Anderson Children Didn’t Come to Dinner, which played at over 50 film festivals worldwide. Numerous editing projects followed, including the short film, My Old Man, based on the works of Charles Bukowski, as well as two short behind-the-scenes documentaries for Ben Harper and the Blind Boys of Alabama.
In 2004, A.J. incorporated Modern Family Productions with Jamie Travis and Amy Belling and the trio began developing their second short film, The Saddest Boy in the World. A.J. was accepted into the 2005 Editors’ Lab at the Canadian Film Centre where he edited the short comedy, If I See Randy Again, Do You Want Me to Hit Him with the Axe? which went on to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. In 2006 A.J. completed The Patterns Trilogy, another series of award winning short films that he produced and edited with Jamie Travis. A.J. recently returned from shooting a documentary series pilot in Port-au-Prince, Haiti and is currently developing his first feature film. Hirsute is A.J.’s directorial debut.

Set in the near future, when a man dying of cancer attempts to purchase a new body he is forced to decide just how much he is willing to pay for immortality. An engaging script, powerful performances, and stylish effects make this short film a must see for everyone.
About the Filmmaker:
In 1999 Jonathan Joffe was hired as technical coordinator for a small non-profit station NUTV in Calgary. While working at NUTV, Jonathan Joffe wrote and directed his first major short film Young Rocket Samurai. The film was a huge success, earning him a national broadcast license on Canada’s Space Channel.
After Young Rocket Samurai, Jonathan Joffe co-founded a workshop now known as Upstart, where each week he directs local actors in performing scene studies for the camera. The workshop, which is still ongoing, has completed over 200 scenes with hundreds of actors and dozens of directors.
Using the lessons he learned from Upstart, Jonathan went on to write, direct, and produce Cost of Living, his second major short film staring William B. Davis of X-Files fame. Within months of its release, the film won international recognition with 15 awards and over 45 festival screenings worldwide, including the 2006 Ampia awards for Best Screenplay, Best Director, and Best Film in the Drama under 60 minutes category.
January 2007 saw the release of his first ever series Have Guide Will Travel, a 3 part half hour travel show about backpacking in Mexico. The show, on which Joffe worked as producer, director, host, and editor, is currently airing nationally on Canadian Learning Television.
In 2008 Jonathan wrote, produced, and directed 3 sort films of three different genres. The Boiler Room, a thriller, Outervention, a comedy, and The Femme Fatale, a film noir mystery. These films have seen there debuts the Calgary and Edmonton International Film Festivals, and the World Of Comedy Film Festival in Toronto.
Jonathan has written two award winning feature screenplays, Frozen, a feature length Science Fiction film, commissioned by Canadian producer Noah Segal, and the comedy Darren Gets Whacked which is in development with Panacea Entertainment of Edmonton.

Canadian film director MAURICE DEVEREAUX wrote and directed PMS SURVIVAL TIPS in 1955, but the film gained new popularity on YOUTUBE in 2006 where it was rediscovered and seen by 3 million people.
Now in his late eighties, MAURICE DEVEREAUX continues to make movies, his last horror feature END OF THE LINE, premiered at the Toronto International film festival and won numerous awards at festivals around the world. Chris is an upcoming film maker with a growing portfolio of independent film projects. Past short films include Disconnect, The Machine and the epic horror film project Human Residue. As a Lord of the Rings fan, he set out to make The Hunt For Gollum as a tribute to the work of JRR Tolkien and the films of Peter Jackson, but also as an experiment in low budget film-making. Aside from directing and overseeing the production, Chris is also supervising the orchestral score for The Hunt For Gollum. She has worked professionally as a ballerina, Spanish translator, hair model, book editor, video game writer, documentary filmmaker, newspaper columnist and video editor. In 2007 she was selected as one of 8 participants to the prestigious AFI Directing Workshop For Women (DWW). Jason Shumway has been making movies since the young age of 14. After getting his first taste of video editing at the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, Jason became an award winning filmmaker while studying in J. Everett Light Radio/Television program. For college Jason was lucky enough to be accepted to the prestigious University of Southern California. In this top rated film program Jason directed eight films and crew on many more. He has recently worked on shows for G4TV and NBC. Currently he is a staff editor at E! Entertainment Television. Jason is producing the indie Feature Film “Bloomington” due out next year.
Matt Shumway
Matt graduated with distinction from Art Center College of Design. There he created his award winning film “Over the Moon.” That film led him to Rhythm and Hues Studios where he works as an Animation Supervisor. His feature film credits include X2, Garfield 1 & 2, Chronicles of Narnia, A Night at the Museum, The Golden Compass, The Incredible Hulk, and Land of the Lost. Matt was nominated for and Annie Award in 2006 for his work on Aslan for Narnia. He is currently the Animation Supervisor for Cabin in the Woods, A Drew Goddard / Joss Whedon Film due out Feb 5th 2010.

He is wowing everyone on the web with his technical proficiency, but most of all with his very own brand of cheeky pop cultural remixing. Huge names have recently hired Patrick. Eldon Letkeman - Director, Writer, Producer
Doctor Who :: Victimsight is Eldon’s first big venture into directing films; something he’s wanted to do for a very long time. Several years ago, he fell in love with Doctor Who and simply put the two together.
Eldon’s experience has been mainly stage work; he has been acting on stage since he was 12 years old. He has recently directed three stage shows: Crossing Delancey, This Is A Play and Around the World in 80 Days, the latter breaking attendance records for the hosting theatre company, Gallery 7 Theatre.
Since Victimsight, Eldon has shot another film called “Twenty Minutes” which is currently in post-production. He is also working on several scripts, including a web series and a feature film. Eldon lives with his wife and five children in Abbotsford, BC, Canada.

About the Filmmaker:
From his modest beginnings as a film projectionist in his hometown of Ann Arbor Michigan, to his award-winning work in Los Angeles; Michael Lynch has recently been exploding onto the film world. Like every child of the 1980’s, Mike has been inspired by films such as Star Wars and Superman and now as filmmaker one can find his inspirations translate into his films.
Michael Lynch attended film school at Columbia College of Chicago where the institution’s eclectic, urban environment inspired the creation of Burden. Upon graduation, he moved to Los Angeles, CA with his long-time girlfriend Kristine Gregg. Recently, his cinematic work has taken him into political activism as Producer of seven Barack Obama shorts for the Inspiration of “Barack: Yes We Can” film series, which have been screened nationwide to enormous acclaim and has been made available through iTunes. In October of 2008 “Help Wanted” won Best Narrative at the Elevate Film Festival where he performed the roles of Producer/Cinematographer. “Help Wanted” also was an official selection at the Cinequest film festival and San Luis Opisbo International Film Festival, March of 2009.
Michael has recently accomplished producing a short entitled “Swerve” starring Shiloh Fernandez, Juno Temple, and Noah Segan. “Swerve” is scheduled to circulate festivals in 2010 and meanwhile in his latest efforts Michael is in development of his feature adaptation off his award winning short “Burden”.
BURDEN had it’s world premiere July 25th 2009 in front of 2 sold out crowds which was the first time a film sold out 2 shows in the AOF festival history.
Death in the Garden (Australia)

The stillness hanging over the Chifley gardens is shattered by the girlish scream of the groundsman, mortified after coming face to face with Death itself. Fleeing to his master, in search of aiding his escape, the aging Baron offers to stand in the young man’s place.
So both men begin a journey from where neither intends to return -- one to the farthest shore; the other to Death in the garden.

Michael Chrisoulakis {Writer/Producer/Director – High Noon Films}
Michael began making films while growing up in Hobart, Tasmania, winning the Tasmanian Television Award for his student projects in year 11. After completing a Media degree in Canberra, he worked as a Commercial Producer/Director at Channel Nine, before moving to Sydney to pursue a career in film.
To date, Michael’s 2003 short suspense film, ‘Interchange’ has screened at many festivals worldwide and received awards including; ‘Short Film Winner’ at both the Telluride Indie Fest and Key West Indie Fest, ‘Best Film’ at the Eyescream Halloween Film Festival, ‘Best Thriller’ at the Int’l Festival of Cinema and Technology, ‘Best Editing’ at the Fearless Tales Genre Fest. Michael also received the ‘Great Expectations’ award at the Sour Grapes Film Festival.
Michael and Edmund Jory have enjoyed a creative collaboration for close to a decade having discovered their mutual passion for film. They have recently completed their first feature length screenplay Darker After Midnight and are well into their second. In 2009 Michael and Edmund created High Noon Films, with the short film Death in the Garden being its first production.

After performing in Michael Chrisoulakis’ short suspense film Interchange (2005), Ed and Michael have been collaborating ever since. Shortly after, the duo began work on their first feature film screenplay, Darker After Midnight, which is currently in development.
Meanwhile, Ed co-wrote Death in The Garden (2009), has completed several short film scripts, a TV Series, Don’t Turn Out the Lights, and he and Michael are currently writing their next feature screenplay, the crime drama Stomping Ground.

About the Filmmaker:
Brendan Bellomo is one of the cutting edge filmmaking stars of the new generation of film school graduates. He is already a multi award-winning writer/producer/director manifesting vision years beyond his NYU Tisch School of the Arts degree. While at NYU, Brendan wrote, produced and directed a cast and crew of 200 students and professionals from 11 different countries all of whom he convinced to volunteer on his film “Bohemibot” a live action sci-fi short that won the 2009 US Student Academy Award.
He worked as Visual Effects Supervisor on the upcoming feature sci-fi drama “End of the Line” (starring Jon Polito and Mark Margolis) and the indie feature comedy “Trophy Kids” (starring David Gallagher and Ryan Eggold). He also worked as lead digital animator on the award-winning music video short “The Spirit of Gravity”, which screened in 30+ film festivals. Just a year out of school and Brendan serves as a guest lecturer by invitation at NYU Tisch School of the Arts and the School of Visual Arts in New York City.

About the Filmmaker:
Adrien van Viersen launched his illustration career and attracted national attention in 1991 with the self-published Time City comic book series. In 1993, Adrien began work in the animation industry, first as a background designer, and then as a storyboard artist on shows such as The Mighty Ducks, Ace Ventura, The Savage Dragon, and War Planets. Meanwhile, he completed work on the Technopolis comic book series (an updated version of Time City), which was published by Caliber Comics in 1997. His efforts garnered him a Russ Manning Award nomination for Best New Talent in the comic book industry.
Adrien’s career in film as a storyboard artist took off in 1999 with Romeo Must Die, and continued with Dreamcatcher, X-men2, I-Robot, 2012, and The Incredible Hulk amongst his long list of credits.
In 2001, Adrien directed, wrote and designed his first short film, Code, produced by B.F. Painter. The film aired regularly on Space (Canada’s Sci-Fi channel) and CBC and won a Leo Award nomination for Best Production design.
Adrien’s other films include Wet Paint, The Agent, and the award winning Tit For Tat and Pig Tale. Pig Tale, released with an alternate ending, was originally shot as the Shadow Strikes fan film and played over 30 festivals around the world, including the prestigious Sitges Film Festival.

Award winning Director, Joel Cranson, brings his unique love of science fiction to PROBED. David Yohe, a native of Southern California, returned to college to study film at California State University Northridge at the age of 28 after a successful career in sales and marketing. Some of David’s influences include John Carpenter, John Milius,
Steven Spielberg, James Cameron, Nick Castle, Dino De Laurentiis and J.J. Abrams.
David was first inspired by special effects and was a regular reader of Fangoria Magazine growing up. He admired the work of Dick Smith, Rick Baker, Stan Winston and Kevin Yagher.
David was selected by California State University Northridge to direct his Senior Thesis film “The Book of Tomorrow”, which he also wrote and produced. He was further honored by a grant from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association to produce this film. David graduated from California State University Northridge in May 2006 with a Bachelor’s degree in Cinema and Television Arts. He now lives in Burbank, California where he continues to work on projects in film and television through his company Isotropic Films.

About the Filmmaker:
Tomek Bagiński (born 1976). Director, animation producer. He is a self-taught artist. He left architecture studies to make films. His first student film Rain won several local awards in 1998 and became an entry pass to Platige Image studio, where he currently works as an Art Director. From 1999 to 2002 he worked, with short intervals, on his important debut short film The Cathedral. The film won the first prize for Best Animated Short at the largest animation and special effects festival SIGGRAPH in 2002 and it was nominated a year later for an Academy Award in the category Short Film (Animated).
In 2004 he completed his second short animated film entitled Fallen Art. He won the Jury prize at SIGGRAPH festival in 2005 and became the first person in the history of the festival to have won both main prizes. The confirmation of the success of both The Cathedral and Fallen Art are numerous awards and the films’ screenings at tens of international festivals. He received BAFTA Film Award for Best Short Animation.
He completed his latest film The Kinematograph in 2009. He currently prepares the realization of his first feature-length film Hardkor 44.
